Katie Rose Summerfield

Hi! I’m Katie Rose (first name, no hyphen!). I’m an actor-musician-writer-model (many hyphens) working and living in New York.

Katie Rose by James Hugh

Equal parts actor, musician, and writer, I’m an alum of Pomona College (English literature and philosophy) and Berklee College of Music (Vocal Jazz), and a graduate of NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where I created a curriculum and degree around “The Psychology of Narrative — Why We Tell Stories”.

I am a company member with Axis Theatre Company, where I most recently starred in an original stage adaptation of the 1952 western, High Noon, and where I will soon be performing in a new, original play (Strangers in the World, opening March 2019). Favorite NYC credits include: EVENING 1910, Dead End (Axis), The Hot Universe (New York Theatre Workshop), Anthropology of a Book Club (MRT); TV: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon), VINYL (HBO).

I gig regularly in the New York singer-songwriter scene and I am currently working on a screenplay that features a strong and busted-hearted lady named Skylar, a guinea pig named Bonnie Raitt the Guniea Pig, and a tarantula named Johnny Leguizamo, or Johnny Legs For Short.

As an artist, I am interested in embodying truth in all of its broken, busted beauty.
